I have never done this before and I am not the best at putting words onto paper. However, I feel this story doesn’t require much to explain a desperate cry from a single momma humbly admitting defeat and needing our help from our community!This cry comes from a woman that I have the honor to call one of my best friends and one of the strongest and most God fearing woman, I have the honor of being placed in my path in this journey of life! This morning she was awakened by 1 of her 8 littles ( yes, a single momma raising 8 children alone!) saying she smelled smoke! Low and behold the attic of there home had caught fire during the night from faulty electrical wiring. Praise the Lord they all were able to make it out safely! But now the reality sinks in. Tonight she will spend her 1st night having to split up her 8 children into 3 different homes and lean on family to take in a couple littles here, a couple littles there and deciding on which ones will stay with her as she wraps her head around how to now financially prepare to take on the aftermath of the damage, all on a single moms income! As thankful as I know she is to have roofs over each child’s head, staying in a hotel and with family can only be a very short term fix. Traditional hotel rooms just cannot house a family of 9 and family cannot keep the kids long term. As a mom my self, my heart breaks for her tonight. I know nothing else to do than to reach out to our community for help for her!! I have no idea how much the cost of damage is at this moment but I do now that the faster I could get her story out the faster she can be at ease for at least a moment knowing that there is hope in beginning the process of fire restoration and her being able to get her displaced kids life back to as “normal”as it can be during this process or at-least back in the path of having them all back under one roof! Especially, during this holiday season! I believe strongly in the power of prayer and if being in a position right now is beyond being able to give financially I ask that you give the gift of prayer! There is strength in numbers and when prayer warriors come together no prayers go unanswered! Please share this Story if it’s placed on your heart to do so.
