My name is Jessica, and I’m Rocco’s mom.
Rocco is almost three years old, and he is my entire world. He is a beautiful, loving little boy with so much personality, so much potential, and so much to say—even though he hasn’t found his words yet.
Rocco is autistic, has global developmental delay, and is nonverbal. He communicates with his eyes, his expressions, his sounds, and the little ways he lets me know what he needs. As his mom, I’ve learned to pay attention to every one of those things.
Since the day Rocco was diagnosed, I have spent countless hours learning everything I can about autism and developmental delays. I’ve researched therapies, specialists, nutrition, testing, and different approaches that could potentially help him. I’ve discovered that there are so many incredible opportunities available for children like Rocco—but unfortunately, many of them come with a price that I simply cannot afford on my own.
Rocco currently receives intensive physical, occupational, speech, and behavioral therapy. I am doing everything I can to give him the support he needs, but there are additional evaluations, specialists, functional and integrative medical care, testing, and treatments that are not covered by our insurance.
And I don't want to stop looking for answers simply because I can't afford them.
As a single mom, I have been carrying this responsibility on my own. I would do absolutely anything for my son, but I also know that I can't do everything alone. Asking for help is not something that comes easily to me, but Rocco's future is more important than my pride.
I want to give Rocco every opportunity to develop, communicate, become more independent, and find his voice—whatever that voice may ultimately look like.
Rocco is also the grandson of the late actress Anne Heche. He was born after she passed away, and our family never had the opportunity to meet her. While that is a part of Rocco’s story, this fundraiser is not about fame or Hollywood. It is about a little boy who deserves a chance to reach his potential.
Every donation will go toward Rocco’s care and the additional opportunities that could help him—including therapies, specialized evaluations, medical and developmental testing, qualified specialists, functional or integrative care, nutritional support, and other services that may not be covered by insurance.
If you are able to donate, even a small amount, please know that it means more to us than I can put into words.
And if you aren't able to donate, sharing Rocco's story is just as meaningful. You never know who might see it, who might know of a resource, or who might be able to help open a door for him.
I’m not asking for someone to fix everything.
I’m simply asking for help giving my little boy a chance.
A chance to communicate.
A chance to grow.
A chance to become as independent as possible.
And most importantly, a chance to find his voice.
Thank you for taking the time to meet Rocco, believe in him, and be part of his journey. ❤️
