Bring Our Warrior Home: Honoring Diana Lee Torrejon

Help us honor the life, legacy, and final wishes of our beloved mother, Diana Lee Torrejon.

On August 15, 2026, our beautiful mother passed away at the age of 75.

There are no words big enough to describe Diana. She was our mother, our protector, our family historian, our memory keeper, and the nucleus that held our family together. She was a freedom fighter, humanitarian, activist, world traveler, spiritual guide, and one of the most bold, brilliant, funny, intuitive, and magnetic people you could ever meet.

She was simply unforgettable.

For those of us lucky enough to call her Mom, it was an honor and a blessing to walk beside her through life.

A Woman Who Lived Fiercely

Mom spent her life standing up for people, animals, the earth, and the things she believed were worth protecting.

She was also a nurse, working in both emergency room and operating room settings. Caring for people wasn't simply a profession for Mom—it was woven into the very fabric of who she was. She had a gift for stepping into difficult situations, remaining strong when others were vulnerable, and fighting for the people who needed someone in their corner.

Long before many of us understood the depth of everything she stood for, she was already giving back to communities and helping people in need.

In her earlier years, Mom founded a nonprofit organization called Eagle Heart, where she dedicated herself to helping those who needed a hand up. She gave back to Indigenous families and people experiencing homelessness, and worked with Toys for Tots to help make sure families on reservations had resources to provide their children with Christmas gifts and dinners, along with other supplies needed for survival throughout the year.

Helping people wasn't simply something Mom did. It was part of who she was.

She believed in giving back, protecting people who were vulnerable, and standing up for what was right.

She spent more than 121 days living in a little tent on Mauna Kea, standing in protest at the TMT telescopes and fighting to protect a place she considered sacred.

She traveled the world, visiting more than 51 countries, always seeking new experiences and connections.

She was our family's storyteller and historian—the one who remembered where we came from, who everyone was, and the stories that connected us all.

And she had a spirit that people never forgot.

Her Final Journey

Mom had very specific wishes for what she wanted after death.

She wanted to be returned to the islands she loved.

Her wish was to be wrapped in copper and returned to the ocean, with the hope of becoming part of a coral reef and continuing to contribute to the healing of the ocean's ecosystem.

We want to honor that wish as faithfully as we possibly can.

Before we can bring her home to Hawaii, there are many expenses our family must cover, including her cremation, memorial services, travel, and the journey to return Mom to the ocean.

We are currently estimating that we will need approximately $15,000 to help us give Mom the farewell she deserves and fulfill her final wishes.

We are still gathering estimates and making arrangements, so we don't yet know the exact cost of everything. We simply want to do everything in our power to bring her home and honor the wishes she entrusted to us.

The Greatest Blessing

Mom used to say that our greatest blessing in life is death.

Those words feel different now.

Our hearts are broken. We miss her beyond words. But we also know Mom would want us to understand that this isn't the end of her story.

She lived a life filled with purpose. She fought for what she believed in. She protected people who needed someone to stand up for them. She cared for people in their most vulnerable moments. She gave to families who needed help. She traveled the world. She loved deeply. She challenged people to think differently. And she left pieces of herself everywhere she went.

Now we are asking for your help to bring her home.
