On May 30th, my 9-year-old will be running a 5K at Boston Common—not just for fun, but for a powerful purpose: supporting early cancer detection through DetecTogether.

At just 9 years old, she has chosen to take on this challenge to help others. While most kids are focused on games and school, she is stepping up to make a difference- running to raise awareness and funds for a cause that truly matters.

DetecTogether is focused on something most people don’t realize:

the majority(86%) of cancers are not found through routine screenings—but because someone notices a change and takes action.

They teach people how to recognize those changes and act early, which can save lives.

This 5K is more than a race—it’s a way to turn compassion into action.
