Donate to the Kinder Fund: Spread Kindness Globally

The Kinder Campaign is a grassroots movement cultivating a deeper sense of connection around the world, one act of kindness at a time.

I am raising the "Kinder Fund" as a source of capital to give toward acts of kindness in our world. In poverty-stricken countries or developing nations, it is common to see a mother with her child begging on the streets, or an elderly person unable to afford their train fare. My hope for the Kinder Fund is that, by coming together, we can address these moments and support those in greater need. Every dollar raised will go directly into the hands of those who need them most. I will share this journey through a blog and on social media platforms, should you feel inspired to follow along!

TELL ME MORE:
Three years ago, I surrendered to what many would call “a midlife crisis,” but to me, pausing life for a bit to ask the deeper questions simply seemed like the obvious choice. In 2021, the company I helped start was acquired by U.S. Bank, and at the age of 30, I found myself having achieved everything my young heart had dreamed of. Yet, the moment it arrived, I found myself surrounded by all the achievements and acclaim that such an accomplishment brings—without any further happiness—asking, “Now what?”

For the past three years, I’ve been deeply inquiring into what it means to build a life of greater meaning. How can we, as a society, live in this fast-paced modern world with a sense of deeper purpose and grounding? Within this exploration, I have focused my studies on three core elements of our human experience: loneliness, connection, and belonging. Loneliness seems to be the sense of lost individuality we feel when we are disconnected from the spirit within us—the source of life placed in our individual hearts for devotion in this world. Connection is the bridge where we find our humanity, in the presence of one another. And ultimately, true belonging is where we find the greater sense of purpose we feel called toward as we dance through this lifetime. Yet, as I’ve studied each of these entities (and their presence or lack in our modern-day society), what I have found more than anything is that our relationship to each of them begins with kindness.

Currently, I see us living in a disheartened world—one where over-communication is confused for connection, and loneliness is prevalent. We are desperate to feel that we belong, and yet the pain of this malnourished reality leaves us seeking to avoid it. We sip, snark, and scroll our way into oblivion rather than summoning the strength to face it, all the while our hearts are quietly whispering, “There must be more to it all than this.” Then we turn back to our screens and routines. In these times, I believe we need, more than anything, to reconnect with our humanity—our hearts, authentic connections, and genuine care for each other and the natural world.

On January 1st, I am setting out on a yearlong journey around the world to explore this thesis in motion. During my trip, I will incorporate philanthropic aspects—spending a cumulative 3-4 months working in conservation programs and volunteering with communities in need. The trip will begin in South Africa, where I’ll live for two months in Hoedspruit and Kariega—two wildlife reserves that conserve ecological homeostasis and protect the animals. During my time here, I will also be working in a local AIDS orphanage. From there, the route is still in development, with current conversations taking place across Kenya, India, China, Southeast Asia, and Australia.

I am calling this trip the “Kinder Campaign,” with a focus on sharing in the kindness that lies between us all, in hopes of highlighting what already exists and reminding us that the heart of the world is good—should we be willing to see it.
