The Goddard Family - Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hello, I am Sarah Davis, Kayla’s mom, also known as “Mimi”! I have started this GoFundMe page in response to the enormous outpouring of requests by many of our friends and family who want to help Kayla and Dave Goddard and their two children!
Here is a quick backstory… Kayla gave birth to beautiful Peyton on November 4th. Unfortunately, a few days later, Ms. Peyton was admitted to the NICU for dehydration and eating issues. She has been tested for everything under the sun and has been given a mostly clean bill of health. After three weeks, the doctors are still trying to narrow down the eating issues! We are hoping to have answers and a game plan this week! Peyton is still currently in the NICU. She has had a nasal feeding tube inserted so she will get proper nutrition. Peyton has now surpassed her original birth weight and growing and getting strong every day. However, our little angel still is not eating on her own. In the meantime, her big brother, Cameron (17 months old), has been diagnosed with RSV. Cameron is quite the fighter, but on Saturday, he was admitted to the ICU at the children’s hospital. He was diagnosed with double ear infections and severe pneumonia. The doctors and nurses have made extraordinary efforts to help Cameron get better quickly. On Monday afternoon, November 28th, he was moved out of ICU but will remain in the hospital until his oxygen levels are where they should be. Our Cameron is a trooper… we kindly refer to him as a Tank!! He plows through everything! Kayla and Dave have also been diagnosed with RSV and fighting to get better each day so they can be healthy for both of their beautiful babies. They are able to see Cameron as they are all diagnosed with the same illness. Unfortunately, due to the RSV they are not allowed to visit with Peyton as it is highly contagious. Obviously, this is heartbreaking for Kayla, Dave, and our families. Luckily, the hospital is wonderful with the constant updates to Kayla and Dave and the awesome snuggle time they give Peyton! We are also so very grateful for them.
We do not have a date when either of the babies will come home. It is just one moment at a time for now. As you can imagine, both Kayla and Dave are beyond worried, stressed out and exhausted. On behalf of them, thank you all for your continued prayers.
Unfortunately, they cannot accept any food donations delivered to their home or hospitals, nor can they receive any type of physical help as Dave and Kayla’s schedule is changing daily, and the RSV is highly contagious. However, a monetary donation of any amount will help them greatly with several things such as the cost of gas to go back and forth from Bradenton to Tampa several times a day, food while they are at the hospital, the increasing medical bills that are current and any that might be in the future, the medication for all four of them, and of course, the concern of being off of work depending on the time frame that the kids are healing. They are incredibly fortunate that they both have exceptional employers working with them and are so compassionate to them both! We are also grateful for this!!
Lastly, Kayla had mentioned a comment about Zoey on her Facebook page. We believe Zoey (the doggie) is suffering from stress over her family! Dogs are amazing animals and can sense the pressure they are feeling. Zoey is now at Mimi and Pop Pop’s house and is finally eating full meals, drinking lots of water, and hanging out with her other dog cousins!!
We thank you in advance for any gift you would like to give them to help them through these challenging times. We thank you for your continued prayers for all four of them!
