Help Dr. Maya Mann Recover and Return to Care

Hi everyone,

We’re reaching out with hopeful spirits to ask for your support during an incredibly difficult time for our family. I’m Dr. Maya Mann, a DMV based chiropractor who has had the absolute privilege of serving this community — and I’m writing this with my wife, Imani, as we navigate an unexpected chapter in our lives.

Due to a serious injury to my right hand/thumb in May, I have had to alter how I provide care significantly. Right now I’m not able to adjust patients or even drive myself to work or appointments. I need assistance with basic day-to-day tasks like getting dressed, cooking, and doing laundry. After exhausting every conservative treatment option, I’m scheduled for surgery on July 1st with a 5 day recovery window— a step I’ve tried so hard to avoid, but one that’s now absolutely necessary to address the pain and get me back to working with my hands.

So many of you have been a part of this journey — from supporting me through chiropractic school to being my first patients, to cheering me on as I started practicing in 2022 and began doing the work I’ve dreamed of for so long. I became a chiropractor to serve others, to help people feel at home in their bodies, and to give back to the community that believed in me and deserved the best care I could muster.

Now, I find myself on the other side of the healing table — needing help and unable to do the work I love.

While I’m grateful to receive workers’ compensation, it only covers a portion of my income. Unfortunately, it’s not enough to keep up with everything — especially with the h.e.f.t.y. out-of-pocket copay for the surgery itself, ongoing medical expenses for appointments and physical therapy, sprinkled on top of our regular bills and rent.

We’re humbly asking for help to:

* Pay for the surgery copay and related medical care not covered by insurance ($500)

* Cover rent, utilities, and essential bills while I’m unable to work for one pay period

* Keep our heads above water until I’m healed and able to return to practice fully

All I want is to get back to caring for the people who have trusted me with their health and their healing. Your support — whether it’s financial or simply sharing this with others — will mean the world to us.
