Ruth and John's Redcar Food Bank fundraiser.

Hi,

Food Poverty SICKENS us, both. We can't believe that in a supposedly advanced society like ours, there are millions of people who routinely go without food, including children.

And so, in our very first "big" run together, we are going to raise funds for a local Food Bank as well as our respective charities.

In Redcar, Food Bank use is already high, and it is continuing to rise. At Redcar Athletic FC, we do collections at all of our home games, but I want to raise some much needed funds for the Food Bank myself.

Footprints In The Community run Redcar Food Bank. Their vision is that the people of Redcar and Cleveland will be self-sufficient, free from poverty and isolation and have hope for their future. They provide a number of different services including Foodbank, The Shed, a Community Cafe, Next Step Shop - to name but a few. They work with over 120 agencies and have approximately 200 volunteers. They couldn't do what they do without the support of local people who regularly donate, fundraise, volunteer etc.
