9 Kids! How'd we get here?

9 Kids and Counting!?  How'd we get here?

Well, they got there in 2 cars, 6 car seats, and through adoption, foster care, a lot of love, and even more patience.

Keri and Marc have again opened their hearts and home to a sibling set – this time it’s 3 little boys.  Adding these 3 kids to their current 6 KIDS!  No, they  are not CRAZY, they simply feel called to be the hands and feet of the Lord.  Needless to say, getting everyone where they need to be can be tricky.  So we are asking you to help us raise $21,000 to purchase a gently used, 12 passenger which will allow them to all travel together.   (Read below to see why this amazing family does it.)

This is going to be a 26 day campaign.  Each day I would like to share with you a tiny piece of this family's unique approach to life.  They inspire me, I hope they inspire you too!

How can you help?
1. Spread the word!  Like this page, so others can hear their story.
2. Write an encouraching comment to the Lohse family.
3. Donate to the van through this website, or by messageing me, Carina  Groh Henry, through Facebook.

Thank you for taking the time to consider the Lohse family's needs. I only know a fraction of what their family does to help these kids, but I KNOW they do it all lovingly. Contributing to the Lohse's Big Van brings you into the Lohse Family, a family of compassion, fun, and commitment.

P.S. Just in case you were wondering. Keri did not give birth to the current 6 Lohse kids.  RaeAnna, Tanner, and Brayden are their biological children and Myla, Cooper, and Kenzie were adopted after being foster children in the Lohse's home.

I asked Keri to explain WHY they feel called to the service of fostering children. This is what she said:

"My short answer is “there is a huge need”. But if you want my longer answer: There has always been a need to help orphans since the beginning of time. The Bible talks about orphans (and widows) many times. In the book of James, it says that being pure and having lasting religion in God’s sight is to care for orphans in their troubles. And in Matthew, Jesus talks about those who are hungry & thirsty, those who need shelter and clothes. – So to help those in need, is as if we are helping Jesus himself. Well, I don't know about you, but that is a one mighty privilege if I ever heard of one! We get to be Jesus' hands and feet here on Earth."

"As far as foster care goes, we have a special place in our hearts to provide a loving home, (notice I didn’t say “normal”) for kids who need us while their parents try to straighten out their lives. And if we can keep kids from being separated from their siblings, that’s even better. We want to show them love, give hugs and kisses, pray with them and for them, take them to Sunday school, kiss boo-boos away, be their tooth fairy, tuck them in, be a listening ear and much, much more!!!!!"
