Then this week, their uncle George passed away after being in the ICU for a month. The Mercadante family of Saugus California has been devastated by Covid.
The younger George had a learning disability, and big brother Jim cared for him most of his life. Perhaps Jim passed first so he could hold his kid brother's hand when he left this earth, and George wouldn't be afraid.
