Help Nwafor Family Who's House Got Flooded

On Thursday September 10th, 2020 there was a Weather Alert for a flash flood for Central Prince George’s County. It was just a regular day we little did we know horror was about to strike!
It was a typical day my family got up and did their regular morning tasks. That day my mom (Ernestine, 52) and I (Christensia, 18) were going out to do some personal tasks. We headed out at around 12 pm, went to the store to purchase and return some items. The joy in our faces as we went through the days laughing and talking but, yet little did we know chaos was arousing beyond our eyes.
It was raining quite hard that day. Neither of us saw the emergency alert which would have typically alarmed us on our cell phones. As we were headed out my mom got a call from my father (Selestine, 54) “WHAT” I heard my mom yell as we were just about to walk out the store. She quickly ran to the car and I didn't understand what was happening. Later my mom told me that our house had been flooded by the rain and my dad was almost trapped inside and couldn't find a way to exit the home. She immediately called 911 but, even they were taking so long to answer which was completely stressful.
The roads were packed with cars trying to drive over the large puddles of water. I could see the fear in my mother's eyes as she drove as fast as she could to get home but traffic stopped us.
We arrived only to see that my father was okay. He told us that some neighbors heard him banging on the door that he was stuck. With the strength they were able to push the door in order for it to open. Thank God he was okay and god bless those who helped him get out.
In the end, we are seeking donations not only for us but for my neighbors who were also affected by this storm. Our house and many others were completely gone. The water rose about 5 feet damaging everything on site. Everything we owed was completely ruined. Priceless things which even money couldn't buy. Much wonders water could do .
