David Dalmau was in a head on motorcycle accident
Doação protegida
For those of you who know David Dalmau, he's a sweet goofy guy that loves to socialize, build with Legos and ride dirtbikes. Ever since he was a toddler he was riding his bicycle all over the neighborhood and building obstacles.

On Tuesday October 27th while he was riding a street legal dirt bike on Lower Colfax Rd he was in a head on collision with a 4runner that was turning in his path. He was life flighted to Sutter Roseville and suffered major injuries. Drugs, alcohol and speed were not considered a factor in the head on collision.

He is stable but can't move from the chest down. He severed his spine, broke his hip and has a compound fracture to his femur. We hope he will be able to get back on his feet but at this moment the doctor says it is very unlikely.
He will need a handicap accessible home and vehicle, 24/7 help and a support team. He will be going to a rehabilitation center for 5 weeks and then go home. If anyone has any leads to a rental house or apartment in Grass Valley that is handicap accessible or single level(he is currently on the second floor of his apartment) please let us know asap.
We don't know exactly everything he will need yet but are hopeful of a speedy recovery. If anyone has handicap accessible items they would like to donate such as a wheel chair ramp, vehicle, or other helpful items, please get a hold of Kim or Nichol to see what they still need for him.

If you would like to send him a care package, message Brandee Dalmau(sister), Nichol Maurer(sister), Kim Duncan(mom), or Heather(girlfriend) and we will get it to him asap.
They are only allowing 1 visitor per day so please arrange with family if you plan to visit. They are also receiving high call volumes and are asking to have people contact family for updates.

Once he is out of the ICU we hope they will allow more visitation. It's going to be a long road ahead to recovery but we are trying to stay positive. Please keep positive thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery!
