Hello everybody!
My name is Andrei and I'm a 24 years old Romanian student living in Germany. In 2008 I had a diving accident which let me paralyzed from the chest down. Since then my life changed completely and now I'm forced to use a wheelchair to be able to move around, having a C5/C6 complete spinal cord injury.
A few months after my accident, my medical situation was incredibly critical and I need to come to Germany for a spinal cord surgery, respectively for approximately 8 months of rehabilitation. All this was possible thanks to special people who helped me a lot to get where I'm now. I also finished high school in Germany and now I'm studying Language and Text Sciences in the 5th semester at the University of Passau.
In the last couple of months my medical situation got worst being forced to change my wheelchair with a high-tech wheelchair, which will give me the possibility to stand up. It will radically change my health and also my social life.
The new wheelchair will be bigger and heavier, and I'm constrained to buy a bigger car, provided with a ramp and a fixation system. In order to use the wheelchair not only at home, I urgently need to change my car. My family will buy the car for me, but they cannot support the costs for the ramp and fixation system. That's why I ask for your help, relying on your goodwill. Any amount will help me to fulfill my necessity of being mobile.
