Help a Computer science student complete her education

Hi, my name is Marium, and I’m an international student at the University of Waterloo studying computer science. I’ve spent the past few years pouring my heart into studying, researching, and building projects that I truly believe can make a difference. But now, I'm facing a difficult crossroads, one that could determine whether I can complete the final steps of my education or not.

I came to Canada with big dreams. I took a leap of faith, leaving home in Bangladesh to pursue a better future. I worked hard to earn my place at one of the best schools in the world; spent sleepless nights on assignments, joined research labs, led student projects, and even started building my own products from scratch.

Despite the challenges, I've worked internships, and submitted research papers, always striving to make the most of every opportunity. But tuition and living costs for international students are incredibly high, and despite all my efforts, I’ve hit a financial wall that I can’t get past on my own.

I’m so close to finishing my degree. All I need is a final push, just enough to cover my remaining tuition and living expenses so I can graduate and continue contributing to the communities I care about.

This isn’t easy to ask for. I’ve always tried to be independent and find my own way. But today, I’m reaching out with humility and hope.

Currently, I'm seeking to raise $10,000 to cover:

Outstanding fees from the previous term: Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to settle some fees, which now hinder my ability to register for upcoming courses.​

Current living expenses: This includes rent, utilities, groceries, and other essentials necessary for day-to-day life.​

If this initial goal is met, I plan to increase the fundraising target to help cover tuition and expenses for my next term, bringing me closer to completing my degree.
