On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, Josh was involved in a pool diving accident and flown to Hartford Hospital via Lifestar. The kids & Stephanie were not home at the time.
He is in ICU and has been through 2 surgeries. Right now, he still can't move or feel anything from the chest down and he can't talk because he's on a ventilator due to aspirating on pool water.
The doctors still do not know the outcome other than that it is going to be a very long road and he has a less than 5% chance of ever walking again.
Josh works as a aircraft mechanic, so he has a very physical job that he may never be able to go back too.
Stephanie has taken time off to be with her husband and try to wrap her head around everything that has happened.
Not only has this turned their their life upside down, they were in the process of selling their house.
When the accident happened, a lot of the house was packed up ready to be moved. Boxes upon boxes with all of their belongings scattered around. Clothes, toiletries, the kids toys, etc.
She’s had to sell a car, finishing packing up their house, figure out how to live on one income, worry about bills, what will insurance cover and not cover, keep the kids happy and answer the tough questions like, “Where’s Daddy?”
She has recently found an apartment for her and the kids and will be moving in within the next few weeks.
The Penn family needs help. Stephanie would drop anything to help friends in need and it’s time we do the same for her and the family.
Anything can help. Parking is expensive, food, bills, etc.
Stephanie is a strong woman and she has done so much this past week to try to pull together her life for her and her kids.
Bills are going to be coming in fast and heavy and this family needs all the help they can get.

For now, we ask for people to refrain from asking for updates from Stephanie as she is overwhelmed with texts and messages it’s hard for her to keep up!
