Victories for Victoria - A new way of life

I don’t really know how to start. I’ve never done anything like this. I feel embarrassed/ashamed to do this but I feel helpless, and a bit hopeless.

Six months ago, my mother, who is only 58, suffered a life changing debilitation and was diagnosed with severe diabetes and blood pressure issues which lead to a severe blood infection. She’s had two hospitalizations and two surgical amputations, one of her right foot and another of the lower portion of her right calf. She then went to a rehab facility for 2 months. Sadly the rehab process did not work for her. She was sent home. A couple weeks after her release, she suffered a stroke. Thankfully I was with her and able to get medical treatment right away. This stroke resulted in another hospitalization. I had been traveling back and forth on a daily basis to her home (an hour away) after I got home from work to visit her and take care of her dogs and cats. I could not keep up this daily routine as there weren’t enough hours in the day to do it all. I purchased a home in Citrus so she could be closer to me. I just moved her in there 3 weeks ago. I am her sole care giver and financial provider. During this time, medical costs, moving costs and home modification costs to make her feel safe and accommodate her being confined to a wheelchair have put me in tremendous debt. She has lifetime medical needs, insulin which we all know is ridiculously expensive, and will require additional home modifications if she remains unable to walk.

Myself, my girlfriend, my boss and my friends have provided a flexible work schedule, personal time and energy into helping me provide the best care and living environment we can for my mother but at the expense of my very large personal debt. Again, I’m her sole provider. I am $30,000 in debt so far with everything that has happened in the last 6 months. I can barely keep up with the monthly costs for everything my mother needs let alone my personal living expenses. I don’t know how I can pay down this debt along with the every day costs of things she needs. I worry about future medical expenses. It’s overwhelming to say the least. Any assistance is appreciated. I am grateful for anything...
