Surgery Fund

Update- I have reached the cost of the surgery and I could fucking scream. ($7,700) I don’t know what to say, I’m in literal tears. THANK YOU ALL, I can’t even begin to explain how this is going to change my life. I’m still going to keep my fund up because quite honestly the quote they gave me doesn't factor in any unforeseen issues and they told me in the quote that it wasn’t a guarantee new costs wouldn’t happen. I have decided to add an edit to give the fund some cushion, $800 more. But please know technically my surgery quote has been made and I can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am. I started this thinking I could ask for 50% of costs help, then with encouragement the full quote costs, and now I can proceed knowing if all else I have the original price covered but maybe plus unforeseen surgery costs (which happen). thank you a BILLION TIMES. This will change my life. I’ve been in so much pain for so many years, just knowing it’s going to change has overwhelmed me (in the best way possible).

My nickname is ristay, I am a comic artist on WEBTOONs and other platforms and I share my funny, albeit sometimes embarrassing, stories across the internet! As many of you know, I have been struggling with my health these past two years.

Amongst my current health issues, I am also struggling with old surgery scaring. While I do have insurance, it sadly will not cover any surgery/procedures for scar revision/laser treatments as they have deemed it not medically necessary. The problem is these scars are large and cause pain and pulling on my body when I move and this surgery will help alleviate my pain.

I know I am not the only one struggling in these economic times, I am immensely grateful for the monthly $300 patreon funds my comics bring in, yet still I have been struggling to pay for this surgery. I have saved 2k of the 7k costs, if by some miracle I get more than the 4K here, I’d be able to pay off the rest of the surgery without having to forfeit the other finances I’ve had to set aside in order to save the 2k I’ve managed to put towards it.

I have until December to pay the rest of my down payment for this surgery. I’m hoping some of my friends and followers can help if they are able to. Even if just sharing this page.
