Starving For Energy Fighting MELAS #FigTwins

Sonia and Sendy are twins that suffer from a rare disease called MELAS it's an acronym for Mitochondrial Encephalopathy with Lactic Acidosis and Stroke. MELAS syndrome is a multi-organ disease with broad manifestations including stroke-like episodes, dementia, epilepsy, lactic academia, myopathy, recurrent headaches, hearing impairment, diabetics, altered mental status, focal weakness, visual loss, sensory loss, and short stature. There is no specific consensus approach for treating MELAS syndrome. Currently the only treatment consist of vitamin therapy and symptom management. (A curtain oil whos name gofundme is rather sensitive to) is proven to reduce their anxiety, be a neurological protectant, and has the ability to control seizures. A lot has changed since we  started this campaign 17 months ago but on March 5 2021 at 2:36pm Sendy passed away most of her journey is on the updates. as  a result the original reason for this campaign has now changed as we could use  a hand with the arrangements after being in the hospital with Sendy for the last 7 weeks we are barely staying afloat...
