Mark Blair

I am Loren Bressers, a friend of the Blair Family.

On January 24 Mark Blair passes away from a lengthy illness. Gisele completely gave up her freedom to take care of her lifelong partner. While Gisele was attending to Mark, she was neglecting some of her own medical and property maintenance needs. She also realized financially she may have to sell her home a relocate to a smaller community.

I have set a goal of $30,000 to make this resettlement period as smooth as possible for Gisele and her sons. Money will be used for Funeral Costs, Medical Expenses, Estate fees, and Household Costs including cleaning, minor renovating, utility deposits, kennel license, dump fees, etc. We all know how much ‘Cash’ is required when doing such a large change. The donations will be instrumental during this time. If the home is sold using a Real Estate agent, there will be staging costs and more cosmetic repairs will be needed in her existing home. There also needs to be some ‘room’ for her to set up her new home. If she stays in her current home, she will need upgrades to items that lagged.

Gisele Blair (LongonLovings Perm Reg.) has been part of the responsible breeder community for over 40 years. Many kennels of Miniature Smooth Hair Dachshunds carry her gene pool. Her eye and pedigree reading abilities are used by many of us while making decisions to enhance our programs. One of my favorite memories was talking her into DCA in Sacramento, Ca. She flew down and met Terry Carr-Hall, who drove her to the show. She and I took the long road home and drove through the Chandelier Tree in Cedar Forest. It was a very memorable time spent together. Gisele had brought her soft hands and AI kit with her. Several litters were started that week with her assistance.

Gisele Blair has been a close friend and mentor of mine for many years. I am asking for contributions from others who feel the same as I do. Gisele’s passion for her dogs and friends continues.
