Support April's Breast Cancer Battle

Dear Friends, Family and Supporters,

My beloved sister, April Lynn Smith, devoted wife to Scott and loving mother from Dunn, NC, was recently diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. This news has been a shock to her and our family, especially as her cancer is aggressive and requires immediate, intensive treatment. April's journey began with chemotherapy which commenced on July 16th and will continue in three-week increments until November of this year. After chemotherapy, she will undergo a double mastectomy, with hope that the treatments will shrink the cancer enough to make surgery safer and more effective. Despite the emotional toll, April's determination to fight for her health and wellbeing shines through as her greatest wish is to be here for her family and continue to spend cherished moments with her loved ones.

Aside from being a pillar of strength for her family, April finds most joy in nurturing her garden, tending to her chickens, and enjoying quality time with her pup, Harper. She also loves thrifting with our mother, Gail Smith of Coats, NC, to forcibly decorate Gail's home with unique finds.

This diagnosis has brought unexpected challenges, and while April's strength is inspiring, the financial burden is significant. Funds raised will help cover medical bills not covered by insurance, and travel expenses for her treatments allowing April and her family to focus on her recovery without the added stress of mounting costs. Every donation, no matter the size, is a step towards April reclaiming her health and life.
