On Saturday , June 30th, Scout was shot in the chest from an accidental discharge by a 9mm hand gun. The bullet hit his diaphragm,spleen, kidney, pancreas and also shattered his rib. He was life flighted from Wheeling Hospital to UPMC children’s hospital in Pittsburgh, where he received emergency surgery and 12 units of blood (8 in wheeling before being life flighted) (4 in Pittsburgh upon arrival) He has been in a children’s hospital on life support since then and is slowly recovering. He has already had 2 surgeries and more are on the way. The dr.’s have said that if this scenario happened 10 times he would have died on the spot 9 of them. I am his brother and raising money for him and my mom to help cover expenses and bills, from lost time at work and from the commuting to and from the children’s hospital (2 hours away) Anything helps and is appreciated.
