As you all know my brother Chris passed away on the 17th. He was diagnosed in 2018 with congestive heart failure. For 7 years he fought to continue living his life. He had a heart pump put in to help him. For 7 years on and off he lived in the hospital for months at a time. He had his ups and downs but still persisted to live his life as much as he could with limitations. All through this, his wife Jamie was always by his side. This year has been full with many ups and downs. We lost dad in March. Chris got his heart in April. He was released from the hospital in May. He lived his best the last few months but, unfortunately, Saturday September 13th his health took a turn for the worse. He became really sick. Fever, vomiting, shortness of breath. Jamie rushed him to the hospital in Palm Coast. They prepped him to send him by helicopter to Mayo. He coded 3 times before take off. They brought him back. Sadly, he went into a self induced coma. He had multi organ failure. Oxygen at 40%. Machines were keeping him alive. That is not how my brother wanted to live. He was a free spirit with a lot of energy. Always said he didn’t want to live with machines. Jamie had to make the heart breaking decision to take him off. She NEVER left his side. We take comfort in knowing he was surrounded by family and friends when he passed. Now we recover from another loss so soon after our dad. Any help would be appreciated.
