At ARE Animal Rescue, we believe that no mother dog should be left behind.

Every week we hear from families who find themselves desperately needing help with an unexpected litter of puppies. They love their dog and want to do the right thing, but spay surgery and veterinary care can be financially out of reach.

Too often, shelters take in the puppies while the mother dog remains unspayed — and the cycle continues as she goes on to have litter after litter.

We do things differently.

Through our No Mom Left Behind Program, ARE Animal Rescue brings the puppies into our rescue program where they receive veterinary care, vaccines, spay and neuter, socialization, and placement into loving homes.

Mom stays right where she belongs — with her family.

While the puppies are in our care, we schedule and cover the spay surgery for the mother dog, ensuring she will never have to go through another unplanned pregnancy again.

This program creates a full-circle solution:

Puppies receive care and find loving homes

Mom gets spayed and stays with the family who loves her

Future litters are prevented for both mother AND all her puppies

Shelter overcrowding is reduced

Our goal is $800, which will allow us to help Roja and her 7 puppies through this program.
