Okay friends, I need to ask you all a favor. My brother, Kai, has been diligently training for karate since he was three years old. He has spent countless hours in the gym preparing for competitions, and is truly one of the best athletes of his age. For those of you who don't know my brother, he is fifteen years old and a student at Cary Grove High School. He has worked at Focus Martial Arts, his karate gym, teaching the younger students and helping to organize, and is a valuable asset to them. You will never meet a more respectful, determined, and intelligent kid. This past year, he qualified to compete at the world championships, and whole-heartedly deserved to go. Honestly, this kid spends hours training every day, giving up time with friends and sacrificing sleep, and he does it all because he is determined to be the best. Unfortunately, my family couldn't afford to send him to the world championship, which was a major disappointment. However, when asked about it, Kai responded with, "It's okay, I am happy for everyone who got to go, they worked really hard, too". I had no idea my brother could be so humble and compassionate. Recently, my brother was invited to compete in Munich, Germany for the International Open WKC Championship for karate, and I really want to make sure he's able to go.
