Teaching in Tanzania
Donation protected
Recently, I have decided to enroll in a service project overseas through an organization called International Volunteer HQ. I am going to Tanzania for 6 weeks this summer, where I will be placed based on necessity to a school in impoverished areas. While there, I will be working to teach children in the area multiple different subjects including english, math, science, and art.
Why would I want to do this?
I believe that through this experience, I can grow as an individual and while helping those in need.
I have lived in the Midwest for my entire life and have traveled outside of it very few times. Like most students, the only perception that I have of the world is what I have seen on TV or read during my studies. I am beginning to realize that I need to experience these lessons in order to gain the most insight. I honestly feel that I can no longer simply hear about the state that the world is in; I need to get a first-hand look at these conditions in order to come back to the U.S. and be the best that I can be.
