Hello community!
Our dear friend Laura has been in treatment for Advanced Metastatic Breast Cancer for the last 3 + years and needs our support at this very important juncture in her journey.
Since her diagnosis of breast cancer five years ago, Laura has shown us all how to live life fully, find the joy in every moment, see the preciousness of life, and appreciate both the good times and the challenging times as opportunities to grow and learn.
After being stable on her treatment path, Laura was unexpectedly hospitalized for life-threatening hypercalcemia (caused by cancer progression) in April 2021. Since that time, she has been on an extended unpaid medical leave (and unable to work) and in chemotherapy treatment. After four rounds of chemotherapy, she is in a stable and good place and in conversation with her oncologists about what is next in her treatment path. At this time her current condition requires strong interventions and practices to support her body to continue to heal, move into full balance and remission, and thrive. She is planning to return to work, but is not yet sure when that will be possible, based on her treatment path. Below we’ve included more information about what you can do to support her in this journey.
Laura is a proponent of Integrative Healing and believes the combination of both western/conventional and complementary medicine, along with a healing mindset is the best recipe for a long, beautiful, healthy life! Laura’s insurance covers most of her western medical expenses beyond her deductible--but everything else in her treatment is out of pocket. Last year these integrative treatments ran upwards of $40,000.
Your financial support will directly assist Laura to:
*Work part time and live a balanced life where she can focus on healing. Healing and going to appointments and treatment is a full time process in and of itself right now(requiring time, energy and resources)!
*Work with a Naturopathic Oncologist (nothing is covered by insurance and it's pricey) and other functional medicine doctors
*Engage in complementary therapies such as vitamin C infusions, COC protocol (see the book “How to Starve Cancer”), acupuncture, mindfulness, energy healing, healing workshops, and more.
*Eat a healthy, nourishing diet
*Do essential diagnostic tests not covered by insurance
*Purchase necessary herbs & supplements to support her body both through the chemotherapy process and to get to the root of the cancer pattern
*Cover any surprise medical bills not covered by insurance, co-pays, and deductibles.
