Eazy’s rehabilitation
Those who aren’t familiar with Eazy’s story, he was one of my Dog Walking customers that I took on as he has trauma from being in a domestic violence scenario where it is also suspected that he was abused. As a result in he has developed pretty severe fear based reactivity towards humans, other animals, cars etc..
I’ve had him full-time now for about 4 months & part time a couple of months prior to that. He has come a long way with the Behavioural & Obedience trainers I have been working with but he is at the stage where he needs more intensive and regular training which I can’t afford.
I’d like to see him work with his trainer as many days a week as possible for as many hours as possible for as long as needed to give this guy a chance at a full recovery and successful rehoming.
No rescue groups will work with a dog like Eazy as he won’t pass their temperament tests, so without our help his fate is sealed.
He will stay with me as long as is required regardless of what that means for me personally with the end goal of his ideal home being on a property with someone who likes to stay home a lot and wants a loving loyal protective companion.
The bonding process is not a simple one and they were most likely “NO TOUCH, NO TALK, NO EYE CONTACT” for the first few meetings but once a bond is achieved, you would not ask for any other Dog as he is the most beautiful, smart, affectionate little character I have ever met.
He will only be rehomed to someone who is familiar with cattle dogs and what they require to be happy and balanced.
He has just passed his intermediate obedience training & is starting advanced. In addition he is crate trained, muzzle trained, place trained & boundary trained.
Eazy is a one year-old Australian Cattle Dog and stunning an example of the breed. He has the potential to be a good working Dog but due to him not being trained in that he would be more suitable as a pet.
I have successfully bonded him with around 12 other dogs, most of which he sees on a regular occasion in a group setting of up to 6 with no issues however the bonding process generally takes about three walks together on separate sides
with no interaction.
I’m happy to support the new owner ongoing but the main priority now getting him rehabilitated so that that is even possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and many thanks in advance for your support. ❤️
