Hello, my name is Jamie and I really want to start out by saying thank you for taking the time to read my story and taking a step into my life. For the last 1.5 years, I first lost my career of 24 years working with drug addicts to help them get clean and change their lives. It was an honor every day to be a part of this journey for many people, and I was completely devastated when I was let go, especially since 2 months prior I lost my marriage of 14 years.

2025 came and I thought this is my year for new beginnings. In January, I lost my best friend, my beautiful mother. I would have to say this pain has been unbearable, but I know she is free from pain. I miss her every second of the day. Then, 2 months later, I found out I was losing my kids and my home due to some fraudulent things my husband had been doing. Not only that, but I found out how much debt he left me with. I continued to try to stay on top of things, selling everything I could to pay bills while stressing about what we were going to do.

2 months after that, I was diagnosed with cancer, and in the following 3 weeks, I went into surgery. 3 weeks after that, I was rushed to Portland because I became septic and needed to be opened up again. My oncologist has told all providers that I cannot look for work right now, as every 6 months more testing is required. The bills have continued to rise, and I've lost my vehicle. I'm trying so hard to be positive, but I'm struggling. I look at my son and think here's another year where Christmas will be vacant. I've talked to a pro bono attorney who tells me the only way out is bankruptcy for a fresh new slate. I've already lost one home, and I'm scared to lose the other home that I had bought years ago for my parents. I need to get that house out of my name so the banks can't take it. I'm working with another attorney to get social security disability, but this takes time and I'm very stressed.

Any little bit would help my son and I, but the money I'm asking for is to help get back to a new beginning, and I promise I will either pay everyone back or I will pay this forward to someone else in need. Once again, I appreciate your time and your love for my son and me. God bless.
