A letter from Paulie & Sabrina:
Dear Family & Friends,
As many of you may already know, Sabrina and I have been trying to have a baby for the past 6+years. This past year we began working with a fertility specialist and have tried various drugs and procedures to conceive and we have not encountered any luck.
Sabrina was diagnosed a few years ago with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), a hormonal disorder among women and the cause is unknown. Its symptoms include excess androgen, cysts and abnormal menstrual cycles making it a serious challenge when attempting to use natural methods for conception.
In Sept we did a round of Intrauterine insemination (IUI), a procedure aimed to greatly increase the chances of conceiving by placing concentrated sperm directly into the uterus during ovulation. Unfortunately our first attempt was unsuccessful.
Thanks to so many of you already donating, we were able to try a second round of IUI. Unfortunatley that too was unsuccessful. With years of struggling behind us we started to consider other options. A friend of ours has offered to be our surrogate AND egg donor. We are thrilled to have this opportunity and feel our efforts are better spent going this route. We can't thank her enough for auch an amazing gift!
Once we complete the necesary legal contracts and documents we will be working on having our baby through a surrogate! We are hoping to do this as soon as possible. From our research the average cost of a surrogacy contract with legal fees is about $1500. We decided to revamp this page in an effort to expodite the process :) we raised over $1300 so far, of which about $200 is still left, leaving us with another $1300 to raise.
The overwhelming responce we got last time was amazing! And for those of you that want to help us reach our new goal, we thank you in advance for your support!
