My name is Max and I am finally getting top surgery! After about ten years of trying to figure out a way to make this possible, I'm closer than I've ever been. I found a surgeon and my insurance will cover most of the costs. I got very close a few years ago, but then got COVID and had a lot of health complications that made it impossible to take steps towards surgery. I am finally in a place where doctors think it is safe to undergo surgery!

I'm raising funds to cover the costs of supplies, rent, food, care that I'll need while recovering, transportation to and from surgery and doctors' appointments, and the cost of living while I am recovering and unable to work. I am a pretty private and self-reliant person, and asking for help is not easy. Becoming disabled and chronically ill has pushed me to get more comfortable asking for and accepting help from my friends, chosen family, and community, but it's a growing edge.
