Jambo Kenya Expedition - 4 weeks

✈️ I’m hoping to go to Kenya – Please help me get there!

Hi! My name is Evelyn and I’m 13 years old and I’m been offered an amazing opportunity to go on a 4-week expedition to Kenya with Camp Kenya.

While I’m there, I’ll be working on some really important projects to help local communities, protect animals, and look after the environment.

I’ll be living right in the heart of Kenyan villages and getting properly involved in everyday life. This means I’ll be:

Helping build and fix important buildings like schools and health centres so families have better places to learn and get help

Painting and plastering schools and other structures and buildings in the village to help make them look and feel better for everyone

‍ Spending time with women’s groups, learning how they support their families by making things like beaded jewellery – and I’ll get to try it too!

Learning from local people, listening to their stories and finding out about their way of life

Working as a team with the community to make a difference together – not just for now, but for the future too

We’ll also be helping protect the local wildlife and the environment by:

Planting trees to help stop deforestation and provide clean air

Building special fences that stop elephants from coming into farmers’ fields without hurting them

Making paper from elephant poo! (It sounds weird but it actually helps bring money into the community!)

I’m so excited (and a bit nervous!) to experience a totally new culture, try new things, and challenge myself in ways I never have before. I really want to make a positive difference and bring back everything I’ve learned to share with others.

My Fundraising Goal: £4,950

This will help cover everything – including my flights, vaccinations, kit, food, travel insurance, and all the project costs. I’m doing as much fundraising as I can, but I’d be so thankful for any support you can give.
