Keeping the Hope Alive

No one could have predicted what this virus was going to do to our society, our families, our businesses. Last November, I signed a lease on a storefront property and decided to follow my dream of opening a restaurant. I have been a private caterer for 7 years, with the majority of my business coming from corporate clients, who have been encouraging me for years to open up a restaurant. Over the past 4 months I have gutted and renovated my commercial space, installed all new equipment and have been preparing for an opening. Now with this health crisis and social distancing directives, my business future is precarious and I’m worried I won’t be able to afford my lease payments without the traffic I expected in my restaurant, Hummus Labs. I have invested everything my wife and I have into this restaurant, my dream. Several friends have graciously donated funds to me but recommended I initiate a GoFundMe campaign to organize keeping my dream alive. I plan to open and run a restaurant delivering healthy, tasty food to your table during this unprecedented economic situation. I will open up in 2 weeks with a limited menu for take-out and larger orders if requested, but with no indoor seating, as per the Governor’s directive.
