BADA Students Trip to Study Film in France!
The Bay Area Digital Arts (BADA) seniors from San Lorenzo High School, class of 2020, are working hard to do an eight day film studies trip to Paris and Lyon, France. In Paris they will visit the many famous film sites of the city, tour the Cinematheque Francaise, the Atelier des Lumieres (the first digital art museum of Paris), and visit the resting place of George Melies. They will then Travel to Lyon to see the resting place of the Lumiere Brothers, the Museum Lumiere and the Movie and Miniature Museum. To make this adventure happen this amazing group of young and talented film makers desperately need your help. Can you support them to make this dream come true?
Our educational tour company has made the itinerary and costs include all travel, hotel rooms, museum fees, tour guide and two meals per day. This works out to roughly $3,000 per students. We have 22 amazing kids and 4 dedicated chaperones (who are paying for themselves). All funds raised go DIRECTLY to the student costs. Though a struggle for many of the families involved, they have pledged to cover 60% of the costs out-of-pocket. The remaining 40% we are asking for here covers those families unable to pay or those that can only pay a portion of the total costs. Students are also taking on video jobs, selling candy, working weekends and hosting events to raise money to make this happen.
San Lorenzo HS is not a high school where these events happen. Such a dream is usually beyond the realm of possibility for our families. Please help set a standard of hope for our community help show these kids that anything is possible. How much can you offer to help them get to Paris?
