Christian's Road to Recovery

While visiting Canada, my dear friend Christian suffered a sudden stroke on the evening of December 12. He was brought at Dr. Tan's Clinic who helped/ assessed Christian; then urgently referred to North York General Hospital then rushed to Sunnybrook after the MRI; surgery was done to remove the blood clot in his brain stem. He is currently in the Critical Care Unit at Sunnybrook Hospital. Christian is only 35 years old and because he does not have OHIP coverage, this tragic event has left Christian and his family in a difficult situation with medical expenses. I have known Christian since highschool. Christian is very caring and a warm-hearted person. He is willing to offer help to those in need, which is why he pursued a career in nursing. Christian also has a loving wife who was visiting Toronto with him. Christian’s wife, Charmaine, has been by his side in the hospital since the sudden stroke. As Christian is not an Ontario resident, his medical expenses must be paid out of pocket. The daily cost for Christian to be cared for in the hospital is over $5700 per day. This amount does not include his medication, Doctor fees or additional tests that Christian will need to recover. I am desperately asking for support from the community to help Christian and his wife during this difficult time of need.
