My mission: 30 marathons in 30 countries before I turn 30.
Why: To support one local charity in each of the last 20 countries I'll be running in.
In June 2013, I ran my first marathon in Japan and I instantly fell in love with the challenge and preparation associated with long distance running. Since then, I have run another nine marathons including in South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, France, Lebanon, Austria, and Qatar - each offering their own challenges.
With ten under my belt and the big 3-0 approaching, I have decided to challenge myself even further: 30 marathons...in 30 countries...all before I hit 30.
With 20 marathons to go in the next 18 months, I have a huge challenge ahead of me but one I am extremely passionate about completing. I will be supporting a local charity in each country I am running in, including Sandblast in Algeria, The Impact Marathon Series in Guatemala, Population Services International in South Africa, Helvetas in Krgyzstan etc - and my goal is to raise $100,000 over the next 18 months.
But I need your help: I need to raise funds to get me to the start line of this gruelling yet incredibly rewarding challenge. The funds donated to GoFundmewill enable me to travel to these countries and be the vessel through which all 20 charities (and their causes) gain global recognition and visibility.
Any support is greatly appreciated and will be going to an incredible cause and of course you can follow my progress on @runtoreach and #runtoreach
