Baby Josephine's heart surgery
Donazione protetta
This is a message I'm reposting from my brother Rob, Josephine's dad: "Hey Friends. Here's a few pictures of little Josephine, Leah and myself's adventure so far this weekend. You see this journey actually started shortly after birth when the birth doctor heard a murmur in Josephine's heart through her stethoscope. We monitored it, with no improvement. So this past Thursday we went to Fargo, to the cardiologist we were referred to. It was there that it was discovered that her little heart isn't quite right. She has what they call "Tetralogy of Fallot". Which is defined as: A rare condition caused by a combination of four heart defects that are present at birth. The great news is it's treatable, with surgery. And that is what brought us on adventure this weekend. We are currently in Minneapolis at the Children's Hospital on the U of M campus. Josephine is being monitored by professionals and they will be coming up with an action plan as to how and when the heart surgery will take place. Leah and I are no doubt concerned yet we remain hopeful and optimistic and ask that you join us in that too. Prayers are always welcome."
Anyone that knows Leah and Rob know that they would never want to ask for financial help and would make things work, but being Leah's big sister I know this is taking a big hit on their finances. Leah stays home with their 5 kiddos and Rob is the only financial support. During this time they are staying up in Minneapolis they have no income, and money is already tight, they are in the application process for Medicaid for Josephine, but at this time do not have medical insurance either. I am reaching out to others in hope that we can offset some of their daily living expenses and help ensure their bills get paid even while Rob is not working, so that they don't have to worry about money and all that mess on top of their daughters heart surgery.
Thank you! Your prayers and positive thoughts are coveted ❤
