Alice Wolfson: We have your back.
Donazione protetta
“Think where man’s glory most begins and ends, and say my glory was I had such friends.” -Yeats
When I think of Alice Wolfson, the words resilient, strong, intelligent, educated, kind and fiercely funny come to mind. You might know Alice from WFHB, where she is a producer, programmer and announcer and host, from seeing her around town or as a friend of hers for many years. Alice holds a BA degree in English from Indiana University and has been getting by living in a low-income apartment for seniors and working freelance editing jobs while giving back to the community in so many ways.
In these days of economic hardship, even the strongest and most self reliant of us might fall into homelessness due to forces beyond our control, and this is what has happened to Alice. It isn’t easy to find jobs as a single woman in their mid-60’s and making ends meet, but Alice has been doing an exceptional job doing this until this week. On Monday, Alice was evicted from her apartment, although her rent was paid in full through September. Alice has found a temporary place to stay with a very wonderful and kind woman in Bloomington, but she needs to find permanent housing.
I have been asked by friends to start this gofundme account for Alice, so that Alice's friends and the Bloomington Community can provide assistance, and I am honored to do-so, and to help in any way I can.
Whether it be a $2 donation and a supportive comment or a $200 donation, every donation is appreciated and needed.
Please join me in letting Alice know that there are people who have her back and that she isn’t alone.
