Support Vilma

Hello friends, family, diners, and the rest of our community--

Last week, an intruder accessed our BOH through an unlocked breezeway we share with the building. We captured them on our security camera stealing a purse. Unbeknownst to them, it belonged to Vilma Melendez--our longest standing kitchen employee, BOH rockstar, and single mom to three (almost four!) kids. Now we're reaching out to the community to help support her.

Vilma was a day one hire at Rooster & Owl, and has trained herself up from a dishwasher to the #1 go-to prep lead. If you show her something once, she can do it. She breaks down fish, steak, whole birds, makes bread--you name it. We simply cannot function without her.

Please help us recuperate the funds she had in her purse (approximately $2000 in cash to pay her living expenses), replace all the contents, and provide coverage for any overdraft fees she experienced while attempting to make ends meet this month. Some of that cash was also gifted to her for her baby shower to buy some things she needed for her fourth child. Thank you for anything you can spare!
