Trumpet Lessons for Lauren
Donation protected
I want to introduce you to my neighbour, Lauren Bourassa, who is a 16 year old music enthusiast. She attends Western Canada High School in the Music IB program. She is a very talented trumpeter and plays in both the Western Canada High School Concert Band and Sr. Jazz Band but also plays percussion in the Calgary Stetson Show Band (she previously did the Calgary Roundup Band for a couple of years on trumpet).
Music is her joy and her passion. Check out this solo she did last year…
Lauren’s Music Director (Mr. Brendan Hagan) is encouraging her to be the best she can be has advised that for her to optimize her potential in her musical pursuits she needs to have individual lessons from a professional trumpeter. Lauren is so pleased that Adam Zinatelli adamzinatelli.com who is the Principal Trumpet with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra has agreed to provide Lauren these lessons.
Now the catch…Lauren’s family has been impacted by the economic downturn and these lessons are not financially feasible.
What we need from you is help to support this young musician pursue her passion. Lauren would be so grateful if you could contribute to her musical education. The lessons are $75 an hour and she would need weekly lessons over the school year commencing September 12, 2016. She doesn’t need the money all at once as Adam has agreed to work with her as her finances trickle in and does not require a large sum deposit to get her started.
Lauren is trying to find a part time job (contacts anyone?) to help cover the costs of this, and her participation in the Calgary Stetson Show Band. She is also an avid volunteer (currently she volunteers at the Calgary Blood Services on a weekly basis). To show her appreciation to you all she plans to give back to the community by performing her trumpet in a senior home on Remembrance Day 2016.
