Emergency fund for Shane Herrera & his family

Hi everyone, It is with a heavy heart that we created this Go Fund Me page for the family of Shane Herrera. Shane “Bo” had a horrible fall and suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was put into a medically induced coma and a craniectomy was performed to remove part of his skull to relieve pressure and bleeding on the brain.  This surgery served as an emergency life-saving measure. The good news is that after spending 8 weeks in the Hospital, Shane’s condition is slowly improving. However, even with extensive rehabilitation and long-term treatment for speech, movement, and cognitive functions, he might not fully recover. This was a life-changing event for Shane and his family. Due to lack of insurance Shane was sent home with no help, so his wife had to stop working and become his full time nurse. 

This recovery is a long and slow process, made even more difficult by the financial burden that it places on the family.

 

The Herrera Family is asking their family, friends, and the larger GoFundMe community for donations to help pay for Shane’s exorbitant ongoing medical expenses and rehabilitation.  We understand that Millions of Americans are experiencing difficult times right now.  The Herrera Family asks that you donate whatever you feel that you can comfortably afford. All contributions are welcome, regardless of their amount.
