Pruitt Family Support Fund
Doação protegida
Mary Pruitt, loving stay-at-home mother of two beautiful little girls adopted from China - both with special needs - has been diagnosed with a potentially inoperable brain tumor. Please help us in raising funds to support her medical treatment, as well as the needs of her family during this difficult and life altering time. Donations of are welcome, as this will without a doubt be a costly adventure; however, prayers and positive thoughts are an even greater commodity, and are greatly appreciated in their own right. Miracles happen every day, and few people are more deserving.
In 2015, many of you helped support the Pruitt family in their adoption of Maizy (story below) by raising $2450, for which they are forever grateful. And while the new year should bring upon new hopes and dreams, it is instead bringing hardship for this wonderful family - and it is bringing me another opportunity to ask for your help.
Jeremy and Mary awoke the morning of January 1, 2018 ready to face a new year, and quickly realized they would be facing much more than anticipated. Within a few hours of waking, Mary was rushed to the emergency room with a dibilitating headache. An MRI revealed a brain tumor, which was putting enough pressure on Mary’s brain to cause a hemorrhage, requiring immediate surgery to relieve the pressure and stop the bleeding.
Mary will remain in the hospital for several days while the doctors at GHS assess the severity of the tumor and look at treatment options. This is a devestating blow to this family; we are all praying for a speedy recovery, and hoping Mary is soon back he with her husband and daughters. She is the rock of the Pruitt family, and I’m sure you can imagine how difficult it must be to deal with an illness such as this, especially when it’s so sudden. Any help you can give to assist in the payment of Mary’s impending medical bills and/or anything else the family needs will most certainly be well appreciated.

In Septmeber of 2012, Jeremy and Mary Pruitt adopted their first daughter, Zoey, from China, and life couldn't be better! Now, 4 years later, they are giving Zoey a beautiful baby sister, Maizy, also from China. Their first daughter was born with Albanism; and let me tell you, that girl doesn't miss a beat in life due to that, or anything else! She is super smart, talented, and eager to be a big sister. Part of her role as big sis will be helping Maizy with her own form of Albanism, Ocular Albanism. The two of them, coupled with two of the best parents anyone could ever ask for, are sure to be unstoppable!
I only mention this because while I'm sure most of you know how expensive foreign adoptions can be, when you couple that with additional medical expenses for the girls' conditions, it all adds up very quickly. It takes a toll on the family's finances, and going overseas for the adoption depletes all savings and puts a large dent in bank accounts for the foreseeable future. Through the help of family and friends, some of this is mitigated, and there is never ANY expectation for help, otherwise.
That said, if anyone ever deserved a little bit of relief, it's this family. The love they all share is something rarely seen, and something I personally envy. Jeremy and Mary have fallen completely head over heels in love with these girls from the moment they saw each girl's picture. They are doing something not many can, or feel they cannot do, in giving these girls a loving home and solid foundation for life. I hope they know just how lucky they are to have such great parents; however, if you asked Jeremy or Mary, they would tell you they are the lucky ones, beyond measure.
In an effort to let them know how much they are appreciated, I, along with our other friend, Vivian, have created this GoFundMe page to help out financially as much as we possibly can. Any little bit is greatly appreciated!
