Nate’s Top Surgery and Transition Fund

Hello! My name is Nate. I am a 29-year-old transgender non-binary being. I am starting a GoFundMe to help raise money to pay for my top surgery, which is a gender affirming surgery to masculinize the chest. It is common for both trans men and non-binary people. Ever since I was young, I always felt different and uncomfortable in my body but I didn’t have the language or knowledge to understand that until I was in my late 20s. I started my social transition at 28 years old. For the last (almost) 2 years, I have been doing research and working on myself to learn about who I am, what I want for myself, and how I can be more comfortable in my skin. In February of 2020, I started my medical transition and administered my first testosterone injection. Every day I am blown away at the changes my body is capable of. It’s incredible how much more at peace I am with the changes I’ve experienced thus far. I am excited for the future. I am excited to see how I will change and grow. With top surgery, I know this feeling will skyrocket to an unknown place of happiness, comfort and confidence I have never experienced before. In the last few months, I have lost my job and have been struggling to support myself and my mother. I’ve maxed out my credit cards and am living off the very little unemployment money I have coming in. I plan on getting another job as quickly as possible, but I have a bit of a hole to dig myself out of. I have my surgical consultation on November 30th. If all goes according to plan, I will be having my surgery with Dr. Jeffery Rockmore. I’ve already paid the $100 for the consultation appointment, and that will go towards the fee to secure a surgery date which will cost another $150. The $250 total will go toward the cost of the surgery which is in the ballpark of $7,500 to $8,000. I’ll also use this platform as a way to keep you all up to date.
