Help Steph's Home Be Safer For Her!

Hello! My name is Brianne, and I've built this fundraiser for my sister, Stephanie - who (at age 22) was diagnosed with a very rare degenerative genetic disorder called Spinocerebellar Ataxia 16 - or SCA16 with a STUB1 mutation. This causes her speech to be incohearent at times and her mobility very limited - often using the assistance of a walker or wheelchair. 

She is only ONE of 16 in the entire world known to have this neurological disorder! After a series of seizure like episodes, Stephanie's team of specialists has asked that she stop working immediately, invest in a more peaceful lifestyle, and make accomodations to the home to keep her safe. 

The $10,000 raised by this fundraiser will go towards those changes - remodeling Stephanie's bathroom (where she has already fallen more than once), assist in medical bills/car payment/other bills until she can get on disability (estimated to take about a year!), travel expenses to Johns Hopkins, and counseling sessions. 

With such an uncertain future and very limited answers, please help to bring some peace to one area of my sister's life - so she may focus on maintaining her health and safety.
