Preserving Legacy, Uniting Generations

The 2026 Familian Kichu Lizama Reunion Committee is planning for the 40th anniversary to celebrate the rich legacy of our Kichu clan. As our generations come together, we will also bring together the beauty of our shared island customs and traditions.

The first Kichu Lizama Reunion took place in Kaua'i, Hawai'i, in 1986. It introduced the generation of first cousins in Hawai'i and Guam who had never met. Those descendants, now ancestors, gave us this treasured heritage of inafa'maolek and aloha to now share in this coming Reunion and to pass forward to our children and future generations.

Mark your calendars for March 2026 in Kaua'i, Hawai'i -- details to come. There will be three days of activities, talk-story, food, chant and dance. With our "Honoring of Elders" to "Celebrating the Children" the experiences introduce to our youth the resilience and joy embedded in our shared customs and practices that our Chamoru and Hawaiian cultures embrace.

This project, however, requires support from Kichus in Hawai'i, Guam, and the continental US. Let's all come together to honor our past, celebrate our present and inspire our future to make this next gathering memorable and a success.

We are raising funds to cover expenses that will also help to keep our registration fee affordable. Expenses will include facility fees and setup for each event venue, food, audio/visual services, printing of materials, photography, etc.
