Shayan Haselibozchaloee, an Iranian musician and new graduate student majored in Master of Music in Flute Performance at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee (UWM).
Let’s share his story and biography with you:
His Story:
Shayan got admission from UWM for the Fall Semester of 2019 with 50% fund from the university. Due to the fact that his U.S visa has not been issued on-time by the U.S government, he had to defer his course to the Spring semester of 2020.
In September 2019, to obtain his visa, He had to travel to Armenia. And unfortunately, He was not able to get his visa as it’s mentioned earlier. Also, it should be noted that he has not pass the military service in Iran, and due to restrict rules of military service if he was getting back to Iran, he would have been forced to participate in military service, and he might lose his opportunity to follow his dreams in the U.S and continuing his education here. Shayan chose to stay in Armenia until his visa got issued. Meanwhile, he was fortunate to have different concerts and performances in collaboration with Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra’s Flute Player, which you can find some of our videos through his Instagram profile.
There is an importance that living in Armenia brought him financial consequences. Therefore, he had to spend portion of his tuition which was meant to be for his study in the U.S. Moreover, he had a limited financial resource since his family has been affected by Iran economic problems which it has been getting worse by Covid-19 crisis.
Frankly, as of now he has no access to get any scholarships until next year in December 2020. Therefore, he is in an urgent situation to pay his tuition fee by May 15, and he highly needs any financial support to waive the whole tuition or at least a portion of it. If he has this support to pay his tuition fees for this semester, he could continue his study with more focus towards success. Also, there is an opportunity that he may receive fund from his flute professor to pay his tuition fee for next semester, if he can finish this semester successfully.
