Cannon Restoration for Eagle Scout
Donation protected
My name is Mason Kyer. I am a Life Scout in Troop 59, St.Clairsville Ohio. I am currently raising money for my Eagle Scout project.
I became interested in history in 2006 when I was five years old. My dad took me to a Civil War Reenactment at Cedar Creek, Virginia and I have been reenacting ever sense.
I am raising money to replace the carriage on a 12 lb Napoleon Artillery Piece made at the Augusta Foundry in Augusta Georgia in 1864. This piece of history was used by the Confederate Army in Civil War.
The cannon was last refurbished by the Ohio Valley Civil War Roundtable in 1986. The Artillery Piece is located in Historic Walnut Grove Cemetery, Martins Ferry Ohio
The replacement carriage will be purchased from Steen Cannon & Ordnance Works in Ashland Kentucky
The new carriage will made of metal and look like the original and will last a lifetime with minimal maintenance.
