BIG UPDATE 6/10/24: Hello everyone, it's been a long time. The consultation I had in 2019 went poorly and it was extremely discouraging for a while. I'm back on the hunt for a surgeon but am now on disability and not working so my insurance isn't accepted by most people. You will notice the goal has gone up quite a lot, that's the rough quote I've been getting since I'll be paying completely out of pocket for the procedure alone, I feel too guilty asking for any more help. I seriously doubt I'll get there so I'm figuring out how much I can put towards it, but if you would like to help me I'd appreciate it. I've wanted top surgery since I first started growing breasts before I even knew what being transgender was, regardless of my gender identity this body is not for me and living like this has been horrible physically and emotionally. I'm almost 27 and I've watched people get what I've always wanted and while I celebrate their trans joy I feel envy as well. It seems like this procedure is impossible, but I at least want to try. Thank you for helping.
UPDATE 10/4/19: I have an appointment with a surgeon to confirm my surgery date in December, but I haven't been able to bind in months and can barely wear a sports bra for an entire shift due to me hurting my back at work. I'm in physical therapy thanks to worker's comp, but I would really like to enter 2020 without being in pain anymore. Thank you so much for the support I've already gotten!
Hello there!
My name is Dylan, and I'm a trans man living in Boston, MA. I have been out as transgender for 6 years (I'm 21), and have been on testosterone since 2016. I wear a chest binder to conceal my chest every day for most of the day unless I'm at home, and it's not only uncomfortable, but taking a toll on my health. My gender dysphoria is intense and persistent, and I already had a bad back when I started my transition.

I underwent scoliosis surgery in late 2015 to correct the curve in my spine, and cosmetically it worked great. However, stress from my binder as I work a job that requires a lot of lifting has put me in a lot of physical pain alongside my mental anguish that stems from dysphoria.
Top surgery would alleviate the need to wear a binder, and therefor would not only put me in a better headspace mentally, but also do wonders for my chronic back pain.
This money will go directly towards doctors visits leading to the surgery, the surgery itself, aftercare, and the time I will be going without work (approximately 6 weeks).
Thank you for considering donating! If you could share this around I would really appreciate it. :)
