Hi everyone. This is our new foster boy, Charlie. Charlie is only four years old and needs to have the best life possible for the next few weeks...
You see, Charlie had a family who had him since he was a puppy. When he grew and got too big for their liking, they chained him up in the back yard up until approximately 8 months ago when they moved and couldn’t take him with them. They left Charlie with a relative. His stay was only supposed to be 3 days but it went on for 3 months and this relative wanted him gone.
The relatives felt burdened by Charlie and during the time he stayed with them, they would call him Dum Dum. Our rescue was contacted about Charlie, we fell in love with his pictures and we immediately changed his name to Charlie.
Charlie was tested for heartworm, sadly the result was positive. He was treated before being placed in our foster program.
Recently he was taken in to be checked over. His vet noticed some swollen areas around his lymph nodes... A biopsy was done and the report came back that he has lymphoma. There is no cure for Charlie's lymphoma. Our goal is to give Charlie the best life he should have had for the time he has left with us. This boy has no idea he is so sick. His tail wags and he loves life.

He was seen by another vet who knows the prognosis is not good, and our boy will be put on medicine to help slow the progress of the disease as well as given supplements and high quality food to give him as much care as we possibly can. No one knows how long Charlie has- no outward symptoms have begun to show yet.
We need your help for Charlie. Our rescue takes in many animals with various health issues. This is the first time we have taken in one who was given so little time. Medical costs will include visits to his vet, medication and emergencies as needed as his health starts to deteriorate.
