YMCA of Greater Boston

On MAY 10th 2024, the YMCA of Greater Boston is hosting the YGB Games, a fun, team-building initiative designed to engage organizations across the city of Boston in support of their incredible mission.

Teams of colleagues will face off against competitors from other organizations to battle it out in dodgeball, hoops, yoga and a variety of other activities while improving the lives of youth and families in our communities by supporting the YMCA Branches that serve them.

Our goal this year is to sponsor a team of Boston Bridgespanners to compete in the games and join in the fun (for the second year running)!

Hello Friends,

With our household having a Pre-schooler in his last year (Jax), consecutive birthdays (Jax turning 5 and Kenzo turning 2).

We typically think about birthdays as a time to receive, but we also have found it just as important to teach our boys that receiving can also mean an opportunity to pay it forward by gifting to others. It doesn't matter if you are big, small, young, or old...everyone can make a difference. This is among many ongoing discussions we have about putting forward a good effort, charity, empathy for others, equity & equality, privilege, giving, making an impact and standing strong for what you believe in.

We are proud of Jax & Kenzo for being good students as we teach about the importance of philanthropy. Weaving lessons and stories about giving, sharing and caring for your friends, family & community. Both of these guys are swimmers at the Charles River YMCA in Needham, Massachusetts and it means a ton for Jax to have such a supportive organization and staff that support his swim journey in such a proactive and welcoming way. Jax in particular was excited to make his reading debut and share with you information about his YMCA fundraiser that his Parents are more than happy to share with the world to enjoy.

We appreciate the space to share our kiddos with you and hope it makes you smile as big as it makes us. Not to mention, check out Jax's reading skills and his supportive little brother!
