Valley Mountain Bikers

Valley Mountain Bikers (VMB), alongside the City of Easton, the Greater Easton Development Partnership and local youth-development organizations including the Lehigh Valley Lightning mountain bike team and Community Bike Works, is working to create two exciting community bike parks for the city's youth (and young-at-heart)

We're developing a world-class paved pump track near downtown Easton and a progressive bike park at Upper Hackett Park featuring jump lines, skill zones, singletrack trails, and beginner-friendly riding areas.

Cycling projects like these have proven to bring significant physical and mental health benefits to comunnities, improve quality of life, and have a positive econonic impacts.

They will also give the city's youth safe spaces to learn to ride and practice their skills in fun and challenging environments, away from traffic and crowded streets.

And they will be used by leading youth-development organizations, including Community Bike Works and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Cycling League to increase their cycling-focused programs.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

These projects have been in development for two years and we've received remarkable support from the Trek Foundation, RK Mellon Foundation, City of Easton and the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation.

In total, we've raised over $500,000 and have several state grant applications in the works.

But with an expected price of $1.5 million dollars, there's still work to do.

Your donation will be used to get us through the next stages of development, which includes final design plans and construction.

Every penny counts to helps us complete this exciting, ambitious, and community-minded cycling project.

Years of hard work and dedication from the Nox trail crew have created an impeccably groomed and maintained trail system that welcomes riders of all ages and abilities. A partnership with Lake Nockamixon State Park has allowed them to build one of the region's most visited trail networks.

The Tower Rd parking lot expansion was a great asset helping to accommodate the multitude of users who frequent the parks' trails. The next step in enhancing the park and trail system is a public pavilion. A pavilion will allow daily users an area to meet, enjoy a snack, cool down from a ride or hike and so much more.

A pavilion will give families a place to gather for events like picnics or birthday parties and just a place to take a rest from their hikes and rides. Youth groups such as Little Bellas, NICA athletes, scout groups and others will have a safe shelter from inclement weather and an ideal venue to meet.

The park has been given a quote, good til the end of the year that is significantly lower than previous quotes. The park has a pavilion in its master plan.

The Trexler trail crew has worked hard to develop a groomed and maintained trail system that welcomes riders of all ages and abilities. A partnership with Lehigh County Parks and Recreation Department has allowed them to build and maintain one of the region's most visited trail networks.

A big part of trail work includes the maintenance of vegitation which encroaches on the shoulders of the trails. The shoulders of the trails require mowing to maintain sight lines and minimize potential interference with the rider. Many of the trails are unshaded and open to full sun which enables the grass and weeds to grow quickly. The trail crew is seeking a commercial mower with a wide 32” cutting path and the power to mow grass, invasive plants and weeds. A commercial mower will allow the crew to work more quickly and efficiently.

The Trail Crew has secured a quote of $4000 for a Ferris FW15 commercial mower. The goal is to raise this funding to place an order for this item and have it ready for trail vegitation work by April 15,2024.
